Metallisation provides cathodic protection of the steel, with zinc or zinc/aluminium applied as an anode.

Metallisation involves the manual application of a coating, and it is possible to apply different thicknesses according to the customer’s needs, corrosion requirements and wishes. For offshore and other environments where a high degree of rust protection is required, metallisation is the best possible treatment for a good paint finish. Metallisation can be used on its own as a surface treatment, but most often precedes a multi-layer painting process.

We inspect the quality of the metallisation visually and the thickness is determined using a coating thickness gauge. We ensure that the quality is fit for purpose and that the results are uniform.
